Let us now consider some of the factors limiting the use of consciousness synthesis. In effect you are asking the other person to enter a world without sin. You do meet people who express an enthusiasm for entering a world without sin, but if their eyes are still dazzled by the allurements of the “world” or mammon, they are going to betray you sooner or later. Much better not start with those who are going to betray. In the “world”, there is a great deal of friendship and loyalty; but generally you have to be acutely sensitive as to the amount of trust and confidence which you can safely repose in friends. If you try to repose more than that to which they are accustomed, you may find the friendship just ends. You have asked more of them, than they were capable of giving; so you lose them.
