change as an unobtrusive modification of tradition. The law recognises that tradition and traditional ways of behaviour help a great deal to keep a community law-abiding; because tradition frequently embodies those good habits, found by successive generations to be socially wise. Tradition is always the wisdom of the past, and understandably it needs modification from time to time; it needs to evolve.
May it not be that the proper goal for an evolving society is a perfectly relaxed consciousness for every member of the community?
